YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids needed a way to educate parents in its community about the importance of exercise and a healthy diet and boost attendance at its free exercise classes.
The YMCA increased its outreach to more than 400 parents and participants each week and soon expanded the program to reminders, suggestions, and cancellation notices for exercise class participants.
Short codes enabled the YMCA to send customized text messages, from recipe suggestions to physical activity reminders, to parents who opted in to the campaign.
