The convenience store used short codes for its digital coupon campaign. By texting the mobile keyword “PROMOS,” customers could sign up for notification of deals and promotions.

 

Results 

The initial pilot program generated over 3,700 sign-ups, and 7-11 soon expanded the campaign to all 62 Hawaii locations. Redemption rates skyrocketed with a reminder alert five days before the offer’s expiration.
