Through the Partner Program, CTIA identifies the most knowledgeable service providers in the messaging space. Partners fall into two types: Application Providers or Aggregators. Partners are divided into three levels depending on how many short codes they lease in a year.

Partner Types

Application

Application Providers provide developer and management tools for creating and managing short code campaigns.

  • Handle the technical aspects and backend of using and managing short codes.
  • Provide best practices for maximizing participation and campaign results.
  • Can deliver professional services for the implementation of tools into the communication stack.

Aggregators

Aggregators connect applications to wireless service providers so that messages can be delivered between the application and wireless subscribers.

  • Connecting your organization to a wireless service provider to allow your short code messages to be sent. Aggregators manage the interface between the application software and participating wireless carriers.
  • Ensuring your message is delivered on time and accurately with throughput management.
  • Crafting short code messaging that meets carrier requirements and follows industry best practices and carrier expectations.
