Become a Partner

Through the Partner Program, CTIA identifies the most knowledgeable service providers in the messaging space. Partners fall into two types: Application Service Providers or Direct Connection Aggregators. Partners are divided into three levels depending on how many short codes they lease in a year.

Application Service Providers

Application Service Providers provide developer and management tools for creating and managing short code campaigns.

  • Handle the technical aspects and backend of using and managing short codes.
  • Provide best practices for maximizing participation and campaign results.
  • Can deliver professional services for the implementation of tools into the communication stack.

Direct Connection Aggregators

Direct Connection Aggregators connect applications to wireless service providers so that messages can be delivered between the application and wireless subscribers.

  • Connecting your organization to a wireless service provider to allow your short code messages to be sent. Direct Connection Aggregators manage the interface between the application software and participating wireless carriers.
  • Ensuring your message is delivered on time and accurately with throughput management.
  • Crafting short code messaging that meets carrier requirements and follows industry best practices and carrier expectations.

Partner Levels

Premier Partners must have an active account in good standing for at least 2 years, a minimum of 50 codes under lease, and an average monthly spend of $32,500. Once hitting this level, they receive the following:

  • Individual Partner Profile page on the short code website, including a detailed company description, video asset, case studies, links to social channels, list of key differentiators and key industries of focus.
  • Featured case study on our website, showcased in Short Codes in Action.

Preferred Partners must have an active account in good standing for at least 2 years, a minimum of 10 codes under lease, and an average monthly spend of $6,500. Once hitting this level, they receive the following:

  • Individual Partner Profile page on the short code website, including a detailed company description, case studies, links to social channels, list of key differentiators and key industries of focus.

Select Partners must have an active account in good standing for at least 1 year, a minimum of 5 codes under lease, and an average monthly spend of $3,250. Once hitting this level, they receive the following:

  • Name appears on Partner Directory on usshortcodes.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

To be at the Premier Level, a company must have an active account in good standing for at least two years, have a minimum of 50 codes under management and have a monthly average spend of $32,500. In addition, all partners must have no material violations in the past 12 months.

Vetting is the process of confirming the identity of CSC Registrants and Content Providers according to the data fields and criteria identified in the short code registry application form. Vetting ensures that those using the registry are the legal entities they purport to be.

To be listed as an authorized Direct Connection Aggregator, a company must have: 

  • Carrier verified agreement and established/operational direct SMPP connection with at least one Tier 1 Carrier that is capable of delivering traffic for any common short code;
  • Enterprise messaging volume capability for short code traffic ( > 30 message / second); 
  • SMS/MMS capability for short code traffic; and 
  • 24/7/365 customer service
